AFIESERE Christian Fellowship has sworn-in her newly elected executive members headed by Pastor Mrs. Mercy Otuokena with a charge for them to be united in for the next two years.
Among those elected are, Evang Ufuoma Omurhie, as Vice Chairman, Bro James Obiuvwevwi as Secretary, Pst. Elijah Eziomo, Asst Sec., Pst Friday Enajohwo as Treasurer, Pst. Ken Okposio as Financial Sec.
Others are, Pst. Sunny Ovobite, PRO, Apostle Abraham Isikuru as Prayer Coordinator, Rev. Victor Ditimiya, Asst. Prayer Coordinator, Mrs. Queen Okpalefe as Choir Coordinator and Mrs. Esther Ogbaisi Asst Choir Coordinator.
In his sermon, the immediate past chairman of the body, Apostle Sunny Osita who took his readings from Luke 22,31-32 with the topic: Strengthening one Another said, “As Christians we should understand each other weakness so we can strengthen ourselves in the body of Christ.
“God is not looking for the qualified but who He would qualify and as a body we must put the church aside and be in agreement according to the Bible and have the love of God.
“Christians must not kill their weakness but have vision of where they are going in other to carry members of Afiesere Christian Fellowship forward”.
Responding on behalf of her executives, the chairperson, Pastor Mrs Mercy Otuokena said, “I want to appreciate God Almighty who made this day a reality and like what my predecessor said, God is not looking for the qualified but the unqualified who He will qualify.
“Looking at the pastors in this Afiesere community, I think I should be among the youngest but you all saw me and put me in this position. God has a purpose for everything.
While I congratulate the newly sworn-in executive members, I want to remind us that it is not by our power we are here but by the grace of God.
And by that grace we must run as one body, entity and when we arrive, ACF will be at a higher height.
Pastor Mrs Mercy Otuokena however solicits for unity among members saying; I cannot do it alone but your support we would go places.
“Bear it in mind that you are here today and those who are not here are the barak God has brought, delegated for me to lead.
“Deborah success in the mist of great men was not by her strength but the barak that was behind her and I know with these wonderful men and women of God we shall conquer”.
Dignitaries present at the event includes, His Lordship, Bishop Gospel Shokare, clergymen, members of PCRC, Ughelli Area Command, Executives of Nigeria Union of Teachers led by Mr Blessing Egbagara, JP, amongst others.
